BU Falls to West Chester in Lacrosse

BLOOMSBURG-- The Bloomsburg University lacrosse team lost to West Chester, the top-ranked team in Division II, on Wednesday by a score of 18-2. The loss was the first of the season for the Huskies.

Bloomsburg jumped out in front just 23 seconds into the game when Kelsey Quigley (Lansdale/Methacton) scored on an assist from Brieann Wolfe (Perkasie/Pennridge). West Chester responded just over a minute later to tie the game at 1-1, the first of nine straight goals for the Golden Rams in the half. The Huskies closed out the half with a goal by Kim Springman (Downingtown/Bishop Shanahan) on an assist from Allie Kakareka (Royersford/Spring-Ford) with just under three minutes to play. In the second half it was all West Chester as the outscored the Huskies 9-0.

Bloomsburg, 3-1, 1-1 in the PSAC East, will play at Shippensburg on Monday at 4 p.m.
